How Funds Help Our Programs Work:
Travel Costs
Traveling the world to train and compete comes with the high cost of travel. Plane tickets can range from $200-$1500 per traveler depending on the destination. Even the cheapest hotel rooms can still cost $100 nightly, rental cars $75+ daily, along with daily food costs $50+ daily.
Professional Coaching & Training
Athletes enrolled in our programs receive technical and competitive coaching from professionals to further analyze and improve athletes’ wave-riding abilities. On land, our athletes are working with personal trainers to gain strength, stamina, lung capacity, nutritional and mental health education.
Competition Fees
Local contest fees in Puerto Rico start at $50 which can add up to be a lot as surfers will typically compete in over 10 local contests annually. Larger national contests like the WSL QS can cost upwards of $1000 per weekend of competition alone. The WSL QS along with other international competition series are essential for athletes to compete in so they have the opportunity to earn points and recognition to further progress their surfing careers.
